A. Spencer Barefield Quartet Soirée in Palmer Woods

Saturday, Sept. 1 • 8 pm
CAC Concert Home in Detroit's Palmer Woods

Barefield, “an extraordinary guitarist/composer” according to JazzTimes, leads a stellar ensemble: Trumpeter Dwight Adams (Stevie Wonder's regular touring sideman); Djallo Djakate Keita on drums; and Canada's national treasure, Juno awardee Dave Young on bass (Oscar Peterson's bassist for decades).

An intimate end-of-summer celebration with A. Spencer Barefield Quartet at the CAC Concert Home, a beautiful historic home in Detroit's Palmer Woods. Enjoy Labor Day weekend with delicious food, wine, desserts and great jazz.

The location of concert — an art-filled 1920's English Cottage — is provided with ticket order. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Tickets: $45, can be purchased at barefieldjazz2012.eventbrite.com or by calling 313-891-2514

YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR HOME!
Before Palmer Woods Music in Homes, there was jazz, classical and world music at the Barefield's Palmer Woods home, the CAC Concert House (Creative Arts Collective). They were so much fun that Barbara and Spencer convinced their neighbors to let them produce concerts in their homes to raise funds to support the neighborhood (Palmer Woods Association), the arts, and various other charities. Barbara and Spencer are the founders and producers of Palmer Woods Music in Homes. This concert supports their nonprofit arts organization, Creative Arts Collective, which has been dedicated to the presentation, creation and preservation of great music since 1979.

A. Spencer Barefield Trio performed at the Detroit Jazz Festival's Pyramid Stage at noon, Sat. Sept. 1, 2012. This was the first time in 10 years that Barefield  performed for the Festival.
